Virtual Swing was born from a simple idea between two friends. Like many golfers in Hartlepool, we found ourselves travelling out of town to experience indoor golf simulator venues because there simply wasn’t anything like it locally. Every time we visited, we’d say the same thing: “Why doesn’t Hartlepool have something like this?”

We’d always wanted to build a business together, so we decided to create the kind of place we would genuinely enjoy visiting ourselves – a modern, welcoming golf venue built in Hartlepool, for Hartlepool.

Surrounded by some of the North East’s most prestigious golf courses, we knew there was a strong golfing community locally. We also believed there were many people looking for something more engaging than a traditional driving range. By combining cutting-edge simulator technology with a relaxed, social atmosphere, we’ve created a space where golfers can practice with purpose, play incredible virtual courses and enjoy the game all year round, whatever the weather.

From the beginning, our vision has been about far more than experienced golfers. We wanted to make golf accessible to everyone, especially juniors, families and people who may have been put off by the stereotype that golf clubs can feel intimidating or exclusive. Whether someone is chasing a lower handicap, trying golf for the very first time or simply looking for a different way to spend time with friends, everyone receives the same warm welcome.

One of the most rewarding parts of our journey has been watching an empty building become a place where people connect. Seeing our ideas come to life has been incredibly rewarding, but it’s the people who make Virtual Swing special. We’ve built friendships with many of our regular customers, celebrated their successes, followed their progress and shared in the occasional frustration that golf inevitably brings. Those relationships have helped create the community we hoped for from day one.

We’ve also been proud to host a wide variety of events, from local football and ice hockey teams enjoying a social evening together to stag parties and even a silent disco, proving that Virtual Swing is much more than just a place to play golf.

As we continue to grow, our ambition is to build a loyal community that grows alongside us. We want to expand our facilities with additional simulator bays, continue improving the experience we offer and keep listening to our customers so we can meet the changing needs of Hartlepool’s golfing community.
