Hartlepool Art Gallery
Hartlepool Art Gallery is at the heart of the cultural life of Hartlepool. With exhibitions of international, national and regional artists and a programme of events and learning throughout the year, the Gallery is a welcome home for inspiration and learning.
This stunning and beautifully restored Grade II Victorian church, sits within the cultural quarter of the town and is part of the Church Street innovation and Skills Quarter (ISQ). Just a minutes walk from Hartlepool Railway Station and close to some of Hartlepool’s stand-out attractions including the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool, and Town Hall Theatre, the gallery is ideally located in the heart of the town.
Hartlepool Art Gallery features two exhibition spaces: The Main Gallery and The Apse Gallery. The ambitious and creatively diverse exhibition programme strives to chime with the town – acting to inspire future artists but also understanding and meeting audience needs. This is achieved through a programme mix of in-house curated exhibitions, open artist proposals and exhibition developed in partnership.
Visit the gallery’s gift shop and discover its stunning range of locally-crafted gifts. From books, art and home furnishings to greeting cards and handcrafted gifts and jewellery, grab some quirky memorabilia to commemorate your experience.
Tucked away inside the Art Gallery, you will also find the charming Vestry Café where you can relax, admire the art and enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake within the idyllic surroundings of the Gallery.
