Larry’s Lanes first opened in 2017 with the aim of bringing a modern ten-pin bowling experience to the traditional seaside town of Seaton Carew, Hartlepool. Being situated between two arcades gave us the perfect location to create that nostalgic seaside atmosphere while offering something new for families, friends and visitors to enjoy. We wanted to give people another reason to visit the seafront and create a venue where everyone could come together for fun, great food and memorable experiences.

One of the most rewarding parts has been watching Larry’s grow beyond what we first imagined. We started as Larry’s Lanes, then expanded by taking over Fizzy Izzy’s and transforming it into Larry’s Café, offering specialty coffee, homemade waffles, ice creams and desserts in a modern setting. We then expanded again with Larry’s Games, introducing darts, shuffleboard, pool and live sports to create an even bigger entertainment destination. Seeing customers continue to support us through each stage of that journey has been incredibly rewarding.

Like many hospitality businesses, COVID-19 was one of our biggest challenges. The restrictions made operating incredibly difficult, but we were fortunate to have built a loyal customer base before the pandemic. When restrictions were lifted, that support helped us bounce back quickly and gave us the confidence to continue investing in the business and expanding into what Larry’s has become today.

Our menu takes traditional North East favourites and gives them a street food twist. From loaded fries and our popular Parmos to more recent additions like shawarma kebabs, we like to put our own spin on familiar dishes. We also introduce new monthly specials, often with bold and unusual flavour combinations, giving customers something different to try each time they visit.

We’re more than just one attraction. Whether you’re coming for bowling, darts, shuffleboard, pool, food, coffee, desserts or live sport, we’ve created a venue where people can spend hours together under one roof. We constantly invest in improving the customer experience, regularly update our food menu with exciting specials, and continue to evolve the business while keeping the fun, friendly Larry’s atmosphere that people know us for.

We’re always looking at ways to grow and give our customers something new. We’re excited to be working on another project for 2027 that will bring a completely different experience while still keeping the unmistakable Larry’s feel. We’re not quite ready to reveal the details yet, but it’s something we’re really looking forward to sharing.
